Because Life is Too Short for Bad Vibes...
Hey there everyone!
For the last 6 to 7 months, aside from getting eaten alive by my Belgian Malinois attack puppy, Nix, on occasion, practically every waking hour away from my (more than) full time marketing position, has been spent, you guessed it, working some more.
With that being said, family members have expressed concern about my well being, friends have made jokes about my unwillingness to leave my home, co-workers have questioned if I'm "getting sick" as my eyes have developed permanent bags, and others are convinced I have a secret side life just waiting to be exposed. Needless to say, many people in my personal life are very curious as to what in the world has been going on.
So, now that I've completed my project, although the fun is truly just beginning, I am ready to share with everyone what I've spent the last several months of blood, sweat, and tears working on.
If you know me, you definitely recognize the wheels in my head are constantly spinning, my brain is often set on overdrive, and I am always striving to be better, to do better, and of course, to live better in the process. I don't just simply start one task and complete it without also beginning 25 others in the meantime. If you don't yet know me, you'll soon find out. It's like the man upstairs said "Brilliant mind?" And then thought "Perfect lets throw in a little ADHD, OCD, social anxiety, and perfectionism to stir things up a bit."
Anyway, I believe the above is a necessary preface to the story of how Bedside Boutique came into fruition. I'll fast forward and save my entire life story for another day, and begin with January 2017. Stepping off the plane onto US soil on January 1st completing an unforgettable trip to Nicaragua, I entered the New Year determined to make some crucial changes in my life. Without skipping a beat, I rushed home to put pen to paper, and before I knew it, was off to a running start.
Side note: This is where I must give credit where credit is due. For as I'm writing this, I still don't think he has a clue how his family, himself, and his hometown inspired me. So, I want to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you Jeff Davila.
Over the next 3 months, sleep was seldom, and countless hours were spent researching, studying, and brainstorming. I wanted to be sure the project I was to invest so much time, energy, and emotion into would be sustainable and worthwhile. By the end of March, the creation of Bedside Boutique was in full swing. And you know what they say, well, the rest is history!
Today, July 22, 2017, I have now removed the password from my website and made it live and open to the public. I do want to state that I'm not entirely sure of, nor am I particularly concerned with everyone's thoughts on my choice of products and industry.
With all factors in mind, and the hopes of being able to work independently towards building the life of my dreams, I'm so excited for what the future holds. Please feel free to take a look around the site www.bedsideboutique.com. It has been created, with zero prior knowledge of website development, to the best of my ability (on my own), tastefully, with all high quality, body safe products, and most importantly, is something I can say I'm truly proud of.
As I have fallen completely in love with my travels to Central America, and their way of life over the last few years, my long term goal is to link my love for their countries with the enthusiasm I have for my business. Essentially, down the road, Bedside Boutique would branch off into the non-profit business sector creating a foundation to fight human trafficking. I plan to have a strong presence in the National Coalition of Sexual Freedom, and have many ideas I can barely contain within myself. Moving forward, the possibilities are endless, and I am so very honored and grateful to those who support me and are with me for this wild ride.
I'd love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and constructive criticism. Feel free to comment on this blog post, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
